Same Facts, Different Conclusions

It is interesting how two people can view the same exact facts and evidence, yet come to two completely different conclusions based on those facts.  Born-again believers look at the wonders of this world and the created universe completely convinced it was all crafted by an amazing God.  But atheists and skeptics look at the same evidence and facts and conclude that it all happened out of random chance and chaos.

As the world started introducing ideas such as free sexual expression in the 1960s and gender fluidity in the 2000s, they touted the benefits of experimentation while we as born-again believers saw serious dangers.  In our final, segment, Mike and David will share some of the effects of this movement to see who was right.

But first, Carl Kerby of Reasons for Hope Ministries joins the program to talk about how Christians can use the evidence of creation all around us to point people to the truth of God and His Word.

Dept. of Ed investigating alleged assault by ‘gender fluid’ boy

A public school district in Georgia is under fire after a five-year old-girl said she was sexually assaulted by a transgender student in the school restroom.

Despite a plea from parents in 2016, the public school district follows a transgender-friendly policy that allowed the male student to enter the girls’ restroom without being punished. The same policy also requires male students to be addressed by a female pronoun, and allows male students to participate in female sports team and to room with females on school trips.

Alliance Defending Freedom attorney Christiana Holcomb tells OneNewsNow that City Schools of Decatur refused to investigate the girl’s claims of assault, which is required under Title IX, and has refused to change the policy that affects approximately 5,600 students at nine schools.

“And they even refused to remove the little boy from the little girl’s classroom,” Holcomb alleges.

Parents facing incorrect pressure to affirm transition

Dr. Michelle Cretella, executive director of the American College of Pediatricians, says the “Transgender Adolescent Suicide Behavior” study can incorrectly pressure parents to put their children through radical transition-affirming therapies, when there is no proof that will prevent suicides. She says other factors must be considered.

“What I contend is that there are underlying issues that the children are dealing with that leads to depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and their gender dysphoria,” she tells OneNewsNow.

Voting in Wisconsin; Welcoming Baal to Washington D.C.

There is always a certain arrogance to our sin.  And the greater the  pride or arrogance, the greater the sin.  America, founded on Judeo-Christian principles and values, is rapidly turning away from God in her arrogance, symbolized best by our very own government and the nation’s capitol in Washington D.C.

America’s defiance of God has now reached a new level as a replica of the Arch of Baal has taken up residence on the National Mall of Washington D.C.—and lawmakers republican and Democrat alike are giddy about it.  We’ll cover the story in our second segment today. In segment three, we’ll continue our look at the Barna Research study from 2017 that reveals exactly what professed born-again believers actually believe about God and the Bible.

In our first segment we check in with Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Action and Council. There is so much to talk about including the upcoming state and national elections and how we can cut through the noise of all the TV ads, mailings, and social media nonsense.

Kavanaugh Confirmation: Concerning Considerations

No matter how this Kavanaugh nomination ends, it will have an impact on our politics and our culture for years to come. That should concern us. As Christians, our concerns in this and everything else, should be viewed through the filter of God’s Word and taken to Him in prayer. In doing so, we can at a minimum help those in our direct sphere of influence and perhaps even impact the larger culture.

Arch of Baal erected in DC to pagans’ delight

The author of the bestsellers, The Harbinger and The Paradigm, noted how moral relativism – also known as secular humanism – has its roots in false gods such as Baal.

“Once you create your own god, you can create your own truth,” Cahn pointed out. “Once you create your own truth, you can overrule everything, call good evil and evil good. … Idolatry is linked to relativism, because you’re creating truths. Once you change your gods, everything else changes. It starts with that.”

“When you look at this beautiful Arch, we are seeing through the eyes of ancient civilizations, and to have it right here – set against the classical columns of the Capitol – is really extraordinary,” Eliot Engel (D-NY) proclaimed when unveiling the reconstructed arch, which was carved from the same Egyptian marble as the original structure. “The thugs of ISIS destroyed the physical arch, but we will not and never allow them to take that profoundly important piece of human history away from us, away from the people of Syria, away from anyone.”

Communist China: A Model for Coming Global Persecution

The nation of China is going through significant societal change, and many nations might model their way to enslave citizens and eliminate individual freedoms.  You won’t hear these stories on secular news because they are blind to how the Bible warns against the Globalist Movement, and the media seems to support the agenda.

Mike and David look at fascinating developments regarding church and state in China. Catholic Leadership in Rome has struck a deal with China that will allow the Communist leaders to, in essence, start appointing Catholic Bishops.  This merging of religion and politics would seem to fit nicely with the coming one world government and religion the Bible warns about in the final days.  We’ll also look at a brave public statement by 344 Chinese Christian pastors who are boldly standing for the gospel and telling the Communist Government publicly that their allegiance is to God and not the government.

Right off the top, Patrick Wood of Technocracy News joins the program to discuss how technology is poising to become the master of humanity rather than a servant to it.

The Real Cause Behind the Crisis at Willow Creek

When you are suffering from the flu, feverish with a soar throat and body aches, are these symptoms the cause of the flu or are they the effects of the flu?  They are of course the effects of a virus (the true cause) that has invaded your body leading to physical illness and mild suffering.  When you treat the cause you get to the root of the problem; but treating effects will not lead to a cure.

Why bring this up? It’s a key to understanding the latest crisis at Willow Creek Church.  The sexual assault scandal involving former Pastor Bill Hybels and several women has led to the Elder Board announcing their resignation. A consulting team has been brought in for damage control and a reorganization plan—you know just like secular businesses and corporations do when facing an internal or PR crisis.  But is the sexual scandal the cause of Willow Creek’s crisis or the effects?  The fallout is an effect – and in segment 2 we will address the true cause.

In the first segment, Mike and David talk with Carl Teichrib about his upcoming book, “Game of Gods” where he did boots on the ground’ research at Burning Man festival. Carl documents the strange, popular movement combining earth worship, pagan rituals, anarchy and spiritual oneness—all under the guise of “radical tolerance.”   And while it might be easy to dismiss what you will hear by calling 80,000 followers goofy nuts, could it be part of Satan’s master plan for the world to worship Anti-Christ?

Where is the American Church Headed?

The Church of Jesus Christ is called to be light and salt to a dying world.  We should be influencing culture by living out the truths in Scripture and sharing the gospel and the eternal truth of God’s Word.  But instead of influencing secular culture we are seeing secular culture influence the church. This leads many to compromise and conform to the world. On the other hand, sincere missionaries through the years have gone to other nations with the true gospel, but now we have been responsible for exporting  things like Word Faith theology and other false gospels.

Elijah Abraham, a former Muslim and now born-again believer joins us this morning to give us some insight on his recent trip to Africa. We look at how the American version of Christianity is becoming more seeker sensitive and how America, once known for biblical discipleship, is now consumed with comfort, leisure, wealth (compared to the world), and luxury – all things that lead us to love this world while losing our focus on eternal things.

One of the sad, subtle consequences of the material wealth and religious freedom enjoyed by Western evangelicals is a widespread indifference to our eternal home. A life of comfort, ease, and acceptance has a way of curbing the appetite for heaven.  Pastor John MacArthur

Destruction Disguised as Reform

There is a huge political, ideological and spiritual battle taking place in our nation.  Our nation has not been this polarized or angry since the Civil War; in fact many believe we are once again entering a “civil war” that might just rip our nation apart.

The Far Left, which touts its movement as “progressive” claims it wants to reform systems to make them more just and fair.  But is that the real goal of progressive leaders?  Or is their goal total destruction of Western Civilization, our Constitution and most importantly Biblical Christianity?

John Loeffler of Steel on Steel Radio has studied and talked about this phenomenon for years and he joins us to look behind the curtain and see what is really going on behind the scenes.  We’ll also look at the crisis in the Roman Catholic Church over the discovery of hundreds of Priests sexually abusing young people for decades, along with assessing the future of the Evangelical Church in America.

Can Reading the Bible Actually Hurt You Spiritually?

How many times, when a professing Christian faces a dilemma, do other Christians say “Well, just read your Bible”?  That sounds like solid advice on the surface…but what if you don’t know how to read your Bible in correct context?  Or what if your world view or belief about God is skewed already?  Could reading the Bible in those circumstances actually do more damage than good?

Barna Research has recently published a study of Americans and our bible reading habits; and one Christian organization thinks the findings are a warning of the growth of apostasy within professing Christianity.

In our first segments we’re joined by Jay Seegert of The Starting Point Project.  Jay discusses some of the questions that baffle today’s scientists; questions that are easily answered if we just turn to God’s Word.

Today’s discussion included a brief contextual review of the history of the great Flood, and in Genesis 7:6-17, the Bible states:

Now Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of water came upon the earth. 7 Then Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him entered the ark because of the water of the flood. 8 Of clean animals and animals that are not clean and birds and everything that creeps on the ground, 9 there went into the ark to Noah by twos, male and female, as God had commanded Noah. 10 It came about after the seven days, that the water of the flood came upon the earth. 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened. 12 The rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.

13 On the very same day Noah and Shem and Ham and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark, 14 they and every beast after its kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, all sorts of birds. 15 So they went into the ark to Noah, by twos of all flesh in which was the breath of life.16 Those that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered as God had commanded him; and the Lordclosed it behind him. 17 Then the flood came upon the earth for forty days, and the water increased and lifted up the ark, so that it rose above the earth.

How Not to Read the Bible – Breakpoint

I read about Barna’s “State of the Bible” survey, this headline caught my eye: “Americans Hold Record Liberal Views on Most Moral Issues.” That from Gallup.

Since Gallup has been surveying people on such topics, more Americans than ever before view the following as “morally permissible”: Divorce, sex between a man and a woman outside of marriage, gay relations, having a baby out of wedlock, doctor-assisted suicide, pornography, and polygamy, among other things.

So … Half of Americans are Bible users, that number has remained pretty steady, and yet more Americans than ever are changing their views (in the wrong direction) about serious moral issues.

SCRIPTURES ON SUFFERING

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4

12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; 13 but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. 14 If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 15 Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler; 16 but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name. 1 Peter 4:12-16

SCRIPTURE FOR FINAL QUESTION

Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. 6 No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him. 7 Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; 8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. 1 John 3:4-10

The Two-Edged Sword of Psychology

The field of Psychology has been booming for many decades as people try sorting out problems and understanding how to cope, all in an effort to make sense this life full of ups and downs.  At times, we all need to talk to someone to get some wise advice, but some within the field itself argue that modern Psychology does far more damage than good, and it may even be the cause of many of the problems we face these days.

One of these professionals is John Rosemond, whose credentials as a licensed Psychologist are among the best—yet John spends most of his time warning people about the dangers of Psychology. We talk with him today.

Then, in the second half of today’s podcast, we discuss a disappointing and heartbreaking article about former Christian music artists, Michael and Lisa Gungor, and how their faith in God apparently crumbled. Where are they now? What caused Michael, and eventually Lisa, to deny the truth of the full gospel? What does ‘living the way of Jesus’ rally mean when you don’t believe all of what He taught?

One thing we do know:

If our faith is not built on a solid foundation of Scripture, on the deity of Jesus and the inerrant Word of the only living God, we are headed for a fall.

“We were traveling the world and singing songs about God, and he didn’t believe any of it.” -Lisa Gungor

“I’m so grateful for the tragedy of losing faith because I think it was a necessary path. It was a path we had to be on.”

  • How do we prevent today’s youth from falling away from the Christian faith?

  • How do you know if a professing Christian artist really believes what they’re singing about?

  • How can we encourage pastors and church leaders to teach through the Bible, in context, from Genesis to Revelation?

  • How can we wake up the church to the reality of the powerful lure of culture where tolerance, open-mindedness, and emotions are looked at as the highest of virtues?

  • How do we warn others about apostasy without coming off as self-righteous?

The Evolving Faith of Lisa Gungor

Strong Spiritual and Mental Health

The world offers lots of so-called solutions that it claims will maintain good spiritual and emotional health.  From drugs to Psychotherapy to Humanist Psychology, the world has no shortage of suggested answers to the problems of life that affect us all. In a world where respectful dialogue is being replaced with impatience, anger, self-righteousness, and even hate, it is vital that Christians not get caught up in all the uproar.

We ought not look to the ways of this world for answers. Instead we look to the Word of God and its timeless wisdom. That being said, many of us get caught up with disagreements or debates on social media which add to our actual concerns and priorities. We discuss these challenges today.

Pastor Randy White joins us this morning to offer solid, biblical advice to maintaining our spiritual and emotional health in a busy, distracting world sliding more and more into confusion and evil.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:6-9

Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. Psalm 55:22

For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. 8 If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. 1 Timothy 6:7-8

“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? Matthew 6:25-26

The Importance of Biblical Apologetics

Today, we are joined by Jay Seegert of The Starting Point Project to discuss the importance of solid Biblical Apologetics and the rise of the religion of “Love.” We discuss the ideas behind ‘coexist’ and ‘we are the world’ philosophies. People have favorite loves and we all may be passionate about something in our lives. But what our purpose is and what we are passionate about speaks volumes about our spiritual condition and relationship with God.

In our third segment, Mike and David look at a few interesting statements made by mega-church pastor Steven Furtick; the same pastor who did his infamous “haters” video blasting fundamental Christians.  This time, Furtick made some provocative– perhaps irresponsible–comments in a sermon about imperfect faith and doubting the Word of God.

The Art of Deception

Satan, the father of lies, has had thousands of years to hone his craft and deceive people. The Bible warns us that deception would become rampant and that many would be deceived, including some who profess to follow Jesus.

Deception is a craft, honed by tactics aimed at dismissing truth and demonizing anyone who opposes the deceiver.  And unless we recognize and understand the tactics, we too, are subject to that deception.

Dave Wager of Silver Birch ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute joins us to discuss some of these tactics used by the left and how to combat it with reason and the truth of God’s Word.

The Twenty-Five Rules of Disinformation – From Twenty-Five Ways To Suppress Truth: The Rules of Disinformation (Includes The 8 Traits of A Disinformationalist) by H. Michael Sweeney. These 25 rules are everywhere in media, from political debates, to television shows, to comments on a blog.

Here are the first five:

1. Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil,

2. Become incredulous and indignant,

3. Create rumor mongers,

4. Use a straw man,

5. Sidetrack opponents with name calling and ridicule.

Looking Behind the Curtain

It is easy to pursue comfort, leisure, luxury and peace in part by living in our own little bubbles, impervious to all that is happening around us.  Newsflash: the nation as well as the church in America are divided. Biblical illiteracy is rampant and true history has been rewritten, but on the surface things are good for most Americans.

Aside from the national debt, the economy is generally stable with historically low unemployment and increasing jobs every month.  But under the surface things are volatile and becoming more contentious by the day.  Because political disagreement has been replaced with vicious hate and personal attacks, many fear our nation may be on the brink of a second civil war.  The Far Left is committed to globalism and are beside themselves as President Trump continues to push his “America First” platform which includes appointing pro-life judges that might threaten the legal murder of innocent children.

Behind the scenes, elites and the establishment continue to work on the foundation of a one world government where God is dismissed and mankind elevates itself. Today we discuss the Deep State, transhumanism, end times prophecy, and a recent survey showing over 60 percent of 18-36 year-old Americans favor socialism; much higher than previous polls.

Gary Kah of Hope For the World has researched and written about the coming one world government for thirty years and joins us this morning to take a look behind the curtain at the systematic move to globalism.

The Deep State – Article by Gary Kah

Fabricating Jesus: Creating a god to Our Liking

Almost everyone believes or at least acknowledges that Jesus is a real person who once walked the earth. The historical evidence clearly points to that fact. And most will say that he was an influential man or good teacher.   Hundreds of millions, especially in America, claim they are Christians or claim to “believe in Him” as the means to salvation and eternal life.  But ask 100 people what they actually believe about His nature, word, and character and you might get 90 different answers.  Even within those who profess to be Christians you see a wide variety of opinions on the nature and character of the one who is Lord and Creator of all things.

Jesus warned His followers that false Christs would come and deceive many. If we are not diligent in the study of God’s Word we can easily be deceived by any of these false Christs. Today hundreds of millions follow a “false Christ” fabricated from a variety of ideas, sources and beliefs.

Tony Gurule of Ratio Christi Ministries has studied cults and false religions in great depth and joins us to discuss how people create a god to their liking (Fabricating Jesus) and believe in a false version of the one who died for our sins by taking the wrath of God against sin upon Himself.

A Freedom That Leads To Slavery

Freedom is a precious gift that must be cherished and protected against those who would seek to enslave us.  While Christians around the world suffer from increased persecution, and we here in America see our freedoms being threatened, there is an even more precious freedom we must guard and protect:  The freedoms given to born-again Christians by the grace and Spirit of God.

Twice in his first letter to the Corinthian Church Paul warned about the importance of tempering freedoms with responsibility.  He said regarding what we consume that all things were lawful, but not necessarily beneficial and warned against the things we consume becoming our masters.   Today in America there is much that vies for our attention and affection.  How do we enjoy the freedoms of this life as disciples of Jesus without allowing ourselves to be led into bondage to them?

Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute and Silver Birch Ranch has written and taught extensively on how we find the correct biblical balance between enjoying good things God has given us while not elevating them to a place of ‘worship” in our lives.

Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise,16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil. 17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; 20 always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; 21 and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ. Ephesians 5:15-21

The Sneaky Agenda of Globalists

Some would argue that globalists are knowingly supporting Satan’s agenda for a one-world government while others argue they are simply ignorant pawns doing what they think is best for humanity.  More than likely most are simply being used by those in power because they are ignorant of God’s Word.

But the reality is Satan’s ill-fated agenda is progressing rapidly through governments, science, culture and even in professing Christianity.  The moves are often subtle, but the end-results chilling as the world will one day worship the Anti-Christ instead of the one true God.

Patrick Wood of Technocracy News is a disciple of Jesus Christ on the cutting edge of the globalist agenda.  Today he shares more news stories on how technology and world systems are slowly bringing humanity into captivity.

Destroying a Generation Through Tolerance

As we become a post-Christian nation the natural effect is that absolute truth becomes a thing of the past, replaced by “individual morality”.  As we have systematically ushered God and His Word out of government and public education, we are seeing a generation of youth deceived and manipulated because they have been taught that God is a myth and it is up to them to make the world a better place.

Our youth have been led to believe they are being empowered to lead this world when in reality they are being conditioned for slavery to serve the elite of the new world order who consciously or not are serving the father of lies, Satan himself.

In our final segments we will look at how government and media are polluting the minds of our children through harmful legislation and television series such as “13 Reasons Why” which documents suicide among teens and has reportedly led to more suicides by youth who watch the series.

But first, where did we start to lose our children and what can we do to fight and reverse the influence of the radical left that has its fingers everywhere including education, government, media and increasingly even mental health care?  Dr. John Rosemond joins us to discuss the dilemma and what we can do about it as parents.

Understanding the End Game

Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in an event or time that we fail to take a step back and look at the big picture.  If you take a snapshot of what is happening in the world these days it might look like this:  A decaying moral society; leaders who care more about their personal wealth and power instead of serving those they lead; an imminent major war in the Middle East; and an overall feeling of anxiety permeating every aspect of society and the lives of many.  Yes a simple snapshot at any given time can paint a powerful picture… and the picture we see these days is not a pretty one.

But God has given us His Word so that believers might not be deceived by what we see around us.  We are to take note of what is happening around us so we can understand it in context of God’s promises.  And our guest this morning is a voice of reason and hope for such a time as this.

Gary Kah of Hope For the World has written insightful books on the coming one world government and one world religion, all the while encouraging believers to always maintain the eternal hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Gary joins us this morning to look at the crisis in Syria that has the world on the brink of another huge war, along with the accelerating movement toward a one world government and religion where humanity will pledge its allegiance to the enemies of God.
